Dr. Thomas practices Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery exclusively. He is a native of northwestern Missouri. He received his Bachelor of Science in biology from Northwest Missouri State University. He attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, receiving his dental degree with distinction. He received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences Antigua, School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Truman Medical Center East in Kansas City, Missouri and residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Dr. Thomas also has a Masters of Science degree from Baker University. He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the National Board of Dental Anesthesiology, and a Fellow in the American College of Dentists. He is President of the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Thomas is the 2006-2007 President of the Fifth District Dental Society. He is on the medical staff at Shawnee Mission Medical Center where he is a past-president of the Medical Staff and the only Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to have served as Chief of Staff. He also has a staff appointment at Saint Luke's South Hospital. Dr. Thomas is married with three children. He has practiced in Overland Park since 1986.
